The Project

medilingua.lmu.de^® is a research and development project of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU), Munich, Germany.

The main target groups of medilingua.lmu.de^® are doctors working abroad and students wishing to spend time during their studies working in an English-speaking country. The aim of medilingua.lmu.de^® is to provide non-native medical staff with the English they need on the job.

This includes:

Communicating with patients and their relatives as well as with immediate colleagues, supervisors and other staff.
Writing medical reports, telephoning and filling in forms.
Learning about the destination country's medical system.
Raising cultural awareness, which is especially important when working in the field of medicine.

All this is provided in a state-of-the-art learning environment that combines multimedia and face-to-face learning forms.
